Trauma Therapy for C-PTSD & Developmental Trauma

The NeuroAffective Relationship Model

Thankfully, the growing understanding of the prevalence of childhood trauma and its life-long impact has brought amazing advances in research and treatment models to restore health and vitality to individuals who have experienced it.

I feel blessed to have stumbled across the NeuroAffective Relational Model of therapy in 2020, and to be able to offer it to my clients.  I am a NARM Therapist in training, and am well equipped to walk the road to healing & wholeness with you.

Unlike some CBT treatment plans (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - which is itself fabulous!), NARM therapy is less appropriate as a brief or short term therapy.  For many years now, our society has commonly used the analogy of peeling back the layers of an onion as we journey through healing.  In the case of developmental trauma/C-PTSD, the onion we are working through has been growing for many years, and has many layers.  It is not fair to expect these layers of ourselves to be peeled away in just a few sessions.

That is where the importance of the therapeutic relationship comes in; & certainly shines!  In this highly effective model of therapy, the relationship between you (the client) and me (the counsellor) is key.  You will always be cared for just as you are, and you will find acceptance, empathy and warmth in every session.

In a recent survey of NARM practitioners, the perceived efficacy of NARM therapy was measured as follows:

The first 2 lines of these survey results bring so much hope for youth & adults who have experienced childhood trauma, and I’m thrilled to bring this life giving therapy to my clients; seeing lives changed and hope restored as a result of it!

Please, if you think NARM therapy could help you, don’t hesitate to connect with me.  I am accepting new clients and look forward to helping you on your journey toward healing.  We do not need to meet in person, we can work together over zoom.
